Field Owners

Owning a paintball field is a business. And like any business the goal is to make a profit. Often business owners focus on sales without understanding it is only one key component of being a profitable organization. The other component is cost. These costs include such things as utilities, payroll, maintenance, rent, etc. In paintball they also include the major costs of materials, cash flow, and insurance.

Our goal with this section of the website is to explain how you can both increase sales and decrease costs all while offering a cheaper solution for your customers

Paintball as with many businesses relies on volume in order to turn a profit. The more often players show up at your field the more of a likelihood you have of making money. Predator Games can increase your sales volume by addressing the following factors:

  • Price: Paintball is expensive for players due to the constant cost of purchasing paintballs. Even the most die-hard players typically will limit their play due to the extreme cost of buying paint. In order to counteract this, many field owners have reduced their profit margins on paint and instead try to make money on field admission fees. As we all know the margins for paint is limited to begin with. This can create a downward spiral as the field owner can now lose money two ways: lower volume due to the overall cost to play for a player and lower profit margins on the paint they sell. The Predator system allows the field owners to increase both their profit margins and player volume by offering a more cost effective solution. The Predator Games systems provide players an economical way of practicing which helps them save money for tournaments and more advanced equipment. It is a simple law of economics that if you lower the price of your product, more people will buy it.

  • Pain and Mess: Fear of pain can be a deterrent to playing paintball, and parents can sometimes be alarmed by welts. These may be factors when parents consider returning their youngsters to a paintball field. The Predator shoots harmless infrared beams... no pain, no mess. Predator Games can be complimentary to paintball, and can introduce young players to exciting outdoor games. Many of these youngsters may go on to play paintball as they grow older.

  • Age Limitations: Age is a limiting factor on many fields. For some fields the minimum age is as high as 16. There are many reasons for this including safety, and liability. The Predator barrel system can overcome these issues and provide you with a customer base that is presently not available to many field owners.

  • More venues: Safe paintball games must be carefully organized and require specific procedures and player safety briefings. Adequate protective barriers (such as special netting), boundary controls (to keep unprotected spectators a safe distance from the playing field), enforcement of safety protocol (including proper eye protection and barrel blocking devices), as well as many other factors are all required for safe paintball games. Insurance companies recognize the risks and costs of organizing safe paintball games. Predator Games, however, can easily and safely be taken into back yards or corporate picnics with minimal set up or supervision. Best of all... no welts, no mess, and NO GOGGLES! Predator Games are well suited for the Party and Entertainment industries, and are ideal for backyard birthday parties, corporate breakouts, and even indoor games where you cannot tolerate a mess. This will be a great profit center for paintball stores and fields. Pro shops can easily expand their business with Games-To-Go. The Predator system can also be a great fund raising system for teams as it allows team members to hold seminars and training games in a safe environment and a low operating cost.

  • Something different: Games, tournaments, scoring, online ranking, generals, etc. Predator Games offers something completely different from paintball. It combines elements of paintball, role playing, and computer games all into one system. You will offer more to your customer for less money. While staying true to traditional paintball, the Predator system also adds a new and fresh approach to the sport which will keep players excited and coming back for more. The versatility of the Predator system makes it adaptable to many situations and will open many revenue streams that are currently not open to paintball field owners.

Field owners should never forget that controlling your costs is the second part of the profit equation. The Predator Games system will drastically increase your profit margins by eliminating or decreasing many of your everyday costs.

  • Material: Paint is not only the number one cost to a player, it is also the largest material cost to a field owner. This is especially true if you are buying it by the truckload. Even worse, what happens if this investment in materials goes unsold or is damaged?

  • Cash flow: Every time you spend money on paint it costs you money until you turn the inventory back into cash. The longer it takes for you to turn your inventory the more this costs you and affects your profits. The predator system will allow you to reduce the amount of paint that you need to keep on hand and will replace the cost of paint with the cost of air. The predator system will provide you with a greater cash flow and will reduce the inventory of paint that you will need to keep on hand. By running both paintball and the Predator system you will be able to maximize your profits while providing a program which is designed to introduce new players to the game. We see this as a win win situation not only for field owners but also for the sport of paintball.

  • Insurance: Insurance is a major cost to paintball fields mainly due to the 'projectile' nature of the sport. Government restrictions and concerned parents will only cause insurance premiums to increase. By eliminating the 'projectile' portion of this equation, you will effectively lower your total cost of running your business.

  • Labor costs: - Although each field is different, there is a great potential to lower the labor costs needed to operate your business. How much time do you spend cleaning up paint, cleaning jammed guns, going over safety instructions directly related to paintballs, etc, etc? It needs to be remembered that all of this will be reduced once you eliminate the use of paintballs. Even the use of referees can be reduced as timing games, scoring hits, etc are all built directly into the Predator Gaming System.

Let's face it. Paintball is not a cheap sport. The cost of owning a paintball marker can run into the hundred's of dollars for a nice system. This cost pales in comparison to how much money you will actually spend operating it. The faster your marker shoots the more money you will burn through. This fact will limit the number of visits an average player will make to a field each year knowing they have to 'save up' just to play. Even if you allow 'walk-on' paint, the player still needs to shell out money for this in order to play. By providing a low cost practice alternative to your regular customers and a new and exciting way of introducing paintball to new prospects, the Predator system will open up new revenue streams to your paintball business.
